History

Akvamiljø Caspian – Caspian Environmental Laboratory (AmC) began to operate in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1998, on an initiative from Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC).

The laboratory offers a comprehensive range of environmental services to the oil and gas sector, including comprehensive offshore surveys, chemical and biological analyses as well as practical environmental monitoring and consultancy.

The laboratory is operating according to international standards, and holds the laboratory specific ISO 17025 accreditation. The staff is made up by azerbaijani scientists,technicians,administrative personnel as well as expatriates from UK and Norway.

AmC is a Norwegian registered private limited company owned by International Research Institute of Stavanger, Norway, the international laboratory group Eurofins and the Norwegian governmental funding agency Innovation Norway. Akvamiljø Caspian is part of the research centre IRIS-Akvamiljø.

In addition to our own services AmC offers a local route to the expertise of our parent organizations for clients in the Caspian region.
